february 6th, 2006. - marbella is the most expensive city in costa del sol, according to the data published by idealista.com, leading real estate portal in spain and strategic partner of rightmove.co.uk. two of the three districts of this coastal city (east marbella and west marbella) exceed the barrier of 2,000 pounds per square meter. particularly, in east marbella are found the highest prices in all costa del sol – 2,231 pounds/m2, whilst in west marbella (in which puerto banús is located) owners ask on average 2,016 pounds per square meter. marbella downtown is very close to exceed 2,000 pounds per square meter –currently 1,984 pounds per square meter
in the remaining towns of the province of málaga, analyzed by idealista.com, very significant variations can be seen. those towns which have usually taken in a more international tourism, above all, from the united kingdom and germany, have a higher average price per square meter: torremolinos (1,821 pounds/m2), fuengirola (1,782 pounds/m2), and benalmádena (1,738 pounds/m2)
on the other hand, those towns which have received traditionally the spanish tourist have a significantly lower price: torrox (1,624 pounds/m2); estepona (1,612 pounds/m2); rincón de la victoria (1,589 pounds/m2); mijas (1,506 pounds/m2) or vélez-málaga (1,453 pounds/m2) are good examples of this phenomenon
