Marbella is solidifying its reputation as the epicentre of luxury tourism in Europe with the unveiling of a major new development on the Costa del Sol. Developers Sierra Blanca Estates and Platinum Estates have partnered through a joint venture to deliver the town’s first luxury beachfront residential-hotel resort.
With an investment exceeding €500 million, the project will occupy a 160,000 m² plot of land in the exclusive Las Dunas Club area – an exceptional location known for its protected natural dunes. The resort will be managed by a prestigious international hotel brand, the name of which is yet to be announced.
The development will comprise 180 branded residences and 150 hotel rooms built to five-star standards. Designed to deliver an exceptional living experience, the resort will feature panoramic sea views and a host of high-end amenities, including a beach club, fine dining restaurants, a spa, a sports centre, a private cinema and wellness areas.
A decisive step towards the hospitality segment
With this project, Sierra Blanca Estates takes its first step into the hotel sector, building on its reputation for developing luxury-branded residences. Its portfolio includes high-profile projects such as EPIC Marbella by Fendi Casa, Karl Lagerfeld Villas Marbella and the upcoming Marbella Design Hills in partnership with Dolce & Gabbana.
“This development marks a turning point for Marbella – not only due to its unparalleled beachfront setting, but also for the standard of excellence it will introduce,” said Carlos Rodríguez, CEO of Sierra Blanca Estates. “It’s a direct response to rising international demand, which now exceeds existing supply. Marbella needed a resort of this scale and calibre.”
Rodríguez also noted the increasing interest from international buyers, particularly from the United States, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, along with a notable rise in domestic demand for high-end real estate of this kind.
An icon for the Costa del Sol
The chosen site is one of the last remaining large plots available along Marbella’s coastline. According to the project’s developers, its gentle topography and uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean will enable the creation of a resort offering exceptional vistas from every unit.
“We’re talking about an iconic development – a new landmark that will not only elevate Marbella’s tourism and residential offering, but also establish a new point of attraction within the Golden Triangle,” Rodríguez emphasises.
Platinum Estates CEO Harry Mohinani stated that the partnership “will allow us to create a world-class project, perfectly aligned with our shared international vision of luxury.”
Development of the plot is set to begin in early 2026, with construction scheduled to commence later that same year. The resort is envisioned not only as a residential and tourist complex but as a true “destination within a destination,” designed to further elevate the region’s premium appeal.
With this new initiative, Marbella continues to strengthen its position as one of the most desirable locations for international investors seeking exclusivity, a prime coastal setting and top-tier services in the Mediterranean.
