What is a counter-offer?
When you make a booking through idealista, you can be confident that what you see in the listing is what you will get. However, some advertisers prefer to adjust certain important details before confirming your booking.
A counter-offer is an alternative proposal sent by the advertiser, in which they may modify one or more aspects of your original request. This new proposal will be available for a limited time (24 hours). If this time expires, the counter-offer will no longer be available, and the original booking will be cancelled.
Where can I see the counter-offer?
You can find the details of the counter-offer in your idealista profile, within the chat with the advertiser. Here you will see the new proposal alongside your original booking, which will now appear as “not accepted”.
You can also view the counter-offer by going to the “Room Bookings” section of your profile and clicking on it for more information. This allows you to see the changes proposed by the advertiser in more detail.

What aspects of my booking can change with a counter-offer?
- Dates: The dates of your stay may differ from your original booking, which could affect the start date, duration, or even the total cost of your stay.
- Price: The counter-offer price may differ from what was shown in the listing. If this happens, it is important to check both the total cost of your stay and the idealista service fee, as both may change.

- Room: The room offered by the advertiser may differ from the one you requested. Keep in mind that changing the room changes the entire listing, so it is recommended to carefully read the new details. Consequently, the Contract Type and Cancellation Policy may also be affected. We also suggest checking whether the new room includes insurance or if the stay is secured through a deposit instead.
In short, a counter-offer is a great opportunity to reach an agreement that better suits the needs of both parties. Take advantage of it and make sure to review every detail carefully before accepting it.
