International consulting firm Ipsos delivered a new edition of the "What Worries the World" survey at the end of 2023. Inflation, crime and poverty are the biggest concerns in the 29 countries analysed. On average, 61% of the population surveyed believe their country is heading in the wrong direction, with Spain (65%) slightly above the average.

In the last decade, most respondents always disagreed with their country's development, so that pessimistic feeling has not increased. In this survey, Peru (86%) is in the lead, followed by South Africa (84%) and France (80%). Most of the population in Japan, Germany and the United States also believes that their countries are on the wrong path.
