Spain are back on top of the football world after beating Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final and securing their second star. The team managed by Luis de la Fuente were crowned champions this Sunday in a final that is already part of Spanish sporting history.
Now it’s time to share the title with the fans. So, where will Spain’s World Cup celebration take place? Here’s the full route the world champions will follow.
When do the national team players return to Spain?
The World Cup final was played this Sunday at 9 pm (Spanish time). After celebrating in the stadium and making the journey back from the United States, the Spanish delegation is scheduled to land at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport on Monday, 20 July, at around 12:50.
Following the transatlantic flight, the players will have a few hours to rest before beginning their official schedule in Madrid, which includes institutional receptions and will end with a meeting with supporters.
World Cup celebration in Spain: time and location
The World Cup celebrations in Spain will take place during the afternoon and evening of Monday, 20 July in Madrid. The main event will be held in Plaza de Cibeles, the usual setting for major Spanish football triumphs.
Before the public celebration, the national team will visit the Palacio de la Zarzuela, where they will be received by the King and Queen from 4.30 pm onwards. Afterwards, the squad will travel to the Palacio de La Moncloa for a meeting with the Prime Minister and other authorities.
The most anticipated moment begins at 7 pm, when the open-top bus parade sets off through the streets of the capital from La Moncloa. There will already be music and entertainment from 6 pm on the stage set up next to the Palacio de Cibeles, where the bus carrying the champions is expected to arrive at around 9 pm.
Route through the streets of Madrid
After the official events, the Spanish national team will begin an open-top bus tour to present the World Cup to supporters. The route will pass along some of the main streets in central Madrid before finishing at Cibeles. This is the planned itinerary for the World Cup parade:
