Marriott International has announced substantial growth in its branded residences portfolio across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, with a total of 70 projects in development. This expansion includes 43 signed projects and 27 properties already open, strengthening the company’s presence in the global luxury residences market.
Over the past two years, Marriott has signed 26 agreements to introduce its branded residences to iconic destinations throughout EMEA – more than doubling the number of agreements signed in the previous two-year period.
New additions include The St. Regis Residences, Casares on Spain's Costa del Sol, which was recently announced, and the W Residences at Dubai Harbour, both reflecting the increasing global demand for luxury residences.
Dana Jacobsohn, Marriott’s Global Mixed-Use Development Director, emphasised that the EMEA region, "home to some of the world’s most sought-after and iconic destinations," has been a crucial driver of the company’s accelerated growth. She added, "Marriott continues to strengthen its leadership position in the sector, offering a unique value proposition for both developers and residence owners".
Marriott Branded Residences, which includes 16 luxury and premium brands, has experienced significant growth in the region, with 13 of its brands having open or signed residential properties. Marriott claims that its residences "provide developers with access to powerful brand recognition and a global lead generation platform, resulting in increased sales velocity and superior value for developers".
Owners of these residences also benefit from exclusive perks through the ONVIA platform, which provides access to experiences within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. By the end of 2024, Marriott plans to unveil several notable projects, including Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residence in Saudi Arabia – the first of its kind in the EMEA region – offering an exclusive experience on the Red Sea; The Residences at the St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat Resort in Oman; The Residences at the St. Regis Belgrade in Serbia; and The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Baku, Azerbaijan, featuring a design inspired by the city’s rich cultural heritage.
