The story of Las Dalias dates back to 1954, when it first opened as a modest roadside bar on the outskirts of Sant Carles, in the northeast of Ibiza. In its early years, it served as a popular gathering spot for locals, particularly farmers from the surrounding area.
It wasn’t until 1985 that Las Dalias experienced a pivotal transformation. That year, the owner at the time, Joan Marí, organised the first hippie market, starting with just five stalls. The initiative coincided with a growing wave of artists, travellers and spiritual seekers drawn to the island’s alternative way of life.
Since then, the market has evolved significantly, expanding in both size and scope. Today, Las Dalias hosts not only a colourful market but also live music performances, art exhibitions, creative workshops and a lively nightlife scene. It has become especially renowned for its vibrant summer night markets, concerts and special events.
When is Las Dalias open?
If you’re curious about the opening hours of Ibiza’s most iconic market, you’ll be pleased to know that Las Dalias is open every Saturday throughout the year. From April to October, the market welcomes visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., while during the winter months (November to March), it closes slightly earlier at 6:00 p.m.
