In this landscape, the historic Colonia Antius, in the Bages region, has been listed for sale on idealista for €3.5 million. Marketed by LM Finques, the property spans the municipalities of Callús, Sant Mateu de Bages and Súria, and includes more than 11,000 square metres of built space, comprising former factory buildings, residential units and agricultural structures.

The complex still retains the typical structure of the Catalan industrial colonies that proliferated between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when many companies created small self‑sufficient communities around their factories to house workers and their families.
The listing notes that the estate comprises approximately 144 hectares of land and an old factory of around 7,500 m², known as “La Fàbrica”, in addition to nearly 20 houses and a main farmhouse of about 1,260 m². Viewed from above, the complex resembles a small private village rather than a conventional estate.
The history of Bages is closely linked to these types of industrial colonies. The region was one of the main industrial hubs of inland Catalonia, driven by textiles, mining and agriculture. Projects of this kind often attract interest from tourism investors, hotel groups or family offices looking to transform former industrial sites into boutique hotels, event venues, corporate retreats or large‑scale residential developments.
The listing does not specify a concrete plan for the complex, but the size of the property leaves a wide range of possibilities open. Beyond the acquisition of real estate, what is effectively being sold is a highly recognisable piece of Catalonia’s industrial heritage.
