The European elections are just around the corner. But how many seats does your country get? After this election, 720 Members of the European Parliament (MEP) will be elected to the European Parliament. This means that there are 15 more seats than in the last legislative period, according to Europe Magazine.
Seat distribution takes into account member states' population size, as well as the need for a minimum level of representation for European citizens from smaller countries. The minimum number of seats per country is six and the maximum is 96.
This time, Spain is still the fourth country in terms of MEPs, but it has gained two more representatives since the last elections.
