Leo Messi seems to be avoiding the crisis that the hotel sector is going through due to the coronavirus crisis in Spain and is throwing himself into a new project. MIM Hotels, the hotel chain owned by the footballer and managed by the Majestic Hotel Group since 2017, will open its new establishment in Baqueira on 4th December 2020. It will be located at the foot of the slopes of the Baqueira Beret ski resort (Lleida), according to a press release issued this month.

Of a superior 4-star rating, Messi's new hotel is home to 141 rooms, with duplexes, suites and junior suites, designed for families or friends with a maximum capacity of five guests. All rooms are said to have decoration inspired by the surrounding mountains, as well as views of the valley or mountains.

In the gastronomic proposal, local products will be the protagonists: the hotel's bars and restaurant will adapt their menu according to the time of day, with "special prominence given to the après-ski offer in the Snack Bar Bajo Cero".

The hotel also has a hydrotherapy circuit, indoor swimming pool, heated outdoor hot tub and spa, as well as rooms for events or meetings, a gym, parking, high mountain guide services and ski equipment rental.

This summer, MiM Hotels bought the Himalaia Baqueira, which has been refurbished by the architect Álex Fernández and the construction company Diagonal House to convert it into a MIM hotel in just over three months. The group assures that, with the acquisition, the chain "expands its focus" towards a customer who loves the mountains and winter sports and who "values the quality of the facilities and the excellence of service, without forgetting the commitment to the environment".

Leo Messi's hotel chain now consists of four establishments throughout Spain: MiM Mallorca, MiM Sitges, MiM Ibiza "Es Vivé", and the most recent acquisition, MIM Baqueira.
