Benidorm (Alicante) will have a new themed resort next to the Terra Natura and Aqua Natura parks in 2025.

Following the acquisition and presentation of the 'Magic World' project in the former Marina d'Or, Grupo Fuertes and Magic Costa Blanca have confirmed that work has begun on 'Magic Pirates Island', a new resort located on the Costa Blanca that will employ 200 people.

As reported in a joint statement, this is the second complex close to the Terra/Aqua Natura facilities and the second to be built in Benidorm with a collaboration between the two groups after the Magic Natura Resort, with 350 cabins was renovated in 2018 and chosen by Tripadvisor as the best family resort in Spain.

The project, with a surface area of around 32,000 m2, includes around 270 themed lodges inspired by pirate legends. The lodges will form part of a large, themed complex for families and equipped with the latest entertainment technology, in which different creative methodologies have been used to achieve "an immersive experience for visitors to experience the universe of a pirate island," they explained.

The investment, a 50-50 split between Grupo Fuertes and Magic Costa Blanca, will provide the area with modern lodges, swimming pool areas, entertainment and relaxation areas and new bars and restaurants. The resort is scheduled to open in the summer of 2025.

Grupo Fuertes and Magic Costa Blanca have described the start of construction work as "very positive news for the Costa Blanca's economy and tourism" as it is estimated that the resort will create more than 200 jobs for the area and "will provide added value and new leisure, fun and relaxation experiences for the destination".
