The second-hand platform of the multinational Ikea, Ikea Preowned, has been rolled out across Spain following a successful pilot in Madrid, the company announced on Monday.

Specifically, the Swedish firm revealed the nationwide launch of Ikea Preowned, a platform where customers can buy, sell, exchange and donate second-hand products from the company.

This platform began as a pilot project in August, initially launched in the markets of Madrid and Oslo. Following its success in Spain, it will also be extended to the whole of Norway.

Ikea has reported satisfactory results from the pilot, with a total of 119,778 visits to the platform between its launch in August and December.

"We decided to create a pilot in Madrid, as it is a key and strategic market for Ikea, to gather insights and ensure that the final solution provides value to our customers," said Laura Durán, Director of Business Development and Sustainability at Ikea in Spain.

"With an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 from users, the results have shown us that we can move on to the second phase on a national scale," Durán added.
