In the centre of the city of Valencia in Spain is a curiously whimsical playpark for children that is sure to delight adults as well. Shaped like Gulliver washed up on the beach and tied down by the Lilliputians, it allows the kids to climb up, over and around his enormous body.

There are multiple slides, staircases and climbing nets located in the giant’s body and clothes, and a tunnel through one of Gulliver’s shoes. This multiuse play equipment is so huge, it’s impossible to take it all in from the ground. Luckily, in his hat, lying a few metres away, is a scale model of the Gulliver Park so you can see what it looks like from the air.

The Parque Gulliver is located in the long and winding Turia Gardens built in the remains of the city’s old, dried-up riverbed. The park now serves as a large green space in Valencia city centre for cyclists, joggers and families to play and relax. The Gulliver children’s play area was added in 1990 and measures a full 70 metres, or 230 feet.

If you’re looking for things to do in Valencia, whether you’re visiting Spain with children or not, the Gulliver’s Park is an excellent option for a different kind of tourist attraction to make your trip to Valencia unforgettable.
