The La Gran Reserva, Sotogrande, residential complex has unveiled a remarkable addition: Villa Sense, a project by ARK Architects that places energy efficiency and harmony with the environment at its core. Priced from €14 million, the property forms part of The 15, an exclusive collection of villas situated in the highest area of Sotogrande.
With a built area of around 2,500 m² on nearly 4,800 m² of land, the villa’s curved structure adapts to the natural topography, optimising both solar orientation and panoramic views. Under the direction of architect Manuel Ruiz Moriche, the design follows bioarchitectural principles, prioritising integration with the landscape and the intelligent use of natural resources such as light and ventilation.
The project features seven suites, along with dedicated work and leisure areas, a spa, a gym and landscaped outdoor spaces with a swimming pool. The villa is fully equipped with state-of-the-art home automation systems controlling lighting, climate and security.
Efficiency and natural materials
Villa Sense has been built according to bioclimatic principles, ensuring naturally stable indoor temperatures throughout the year. Its technical features include aerothermal energy systems, photovoltaic panels and heat recovery ventilation. The landscaping incorporates Mediterranean species and locally sourced materials to minimise water consumption and reduce the environmental footprint.
The project forms part of The 15, a collection of 15 independent villas set within a 12-hectare estate overlooking the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and several internationally renowned golf courses. With restricted access, the development is a key element of Sotogrande SA’s residential expansion plan, which aims to strengthen the area’s position as a high-end, sustainably designed residential destination.
Based in Marbella, ARK Architects has been designing single-family homes in Spain and abroad for more than two decades. In recent years, the studio has concentrated on residential projects that combine contemporary design with energy efficiency, reflecting the growing international trend towards sustainable luxury living.
