Meliá Hotels International has announced that the Holiday World Resort complex will soon join its portfolio. Situated in Benalmádena, one of the Costa del Sol’s most popular destinations, the resort’s three hotels and holiday home complex will become part of Meliá’s Málaga offering from next March.

Owned by Grupo Peñarroya, Holiday World Resort comprises three superior four-star hotels – Holiday World Polynesia, Holiday World Riwo and Holiday World Village – alongside the premium Casamaïa apartments, with a total of 864 rooms.

This addition brings Meliá Hotels International’s total number of hotels operating or soon to open in the province of Málaga to 22.

With over 20 years of experience, Holiday World offers a complete holiday experience combining leisure, gastronomy, sports and wellness.

The complex also features extensive sports facilities, with a 3,600-square-metre centre that includes a tennis court, padel and basketball courts, a seven-a-side football pitch and functional training areas.

For the 2026 season, four Pickleball courts will be added, making it the first holiday hotel complex in Spain to offer facilities for this sport.

The resort’s official integration into Meliá Hotels International is scheduled for next March, when it will begin operating under the Affiliated by Meliá Holiday World brand.

Gabriel Escarrer, president and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, emphasised the strategic importance of the Costa del Sol for the Mallorcan hotel group. “The addition of Holiday World Resort strengthens our commitment to quality tourism and our expansion in Spain’s key destinations. We are proud to bring one of Málaga’s most complete resorts into our portfolio,” he said.

On behalf of Holiday World, the group’s president, Pepa Peñarroya, highlighted that the agreement represents a major milestone, ushering in a new phase of growth and consolidation for the resort’s hotel project.

“This partnership will enable us to enhance our holiday offerings, improve the guest experience through strategic renovations and reach new markets, supported by a partner with a strong track record and extensive industry expertise,” she said.
