idealista, the leading property marketplace in Spain, Portugal, and Italy, has launched its app within OpenAI’s ChatGPT environment. With this move, idealista becomes the first Spanish property platform to release an app on ChatGPT, combining the largest selection of properties in Southern Europe with ChatGPT’s conversational and analytical capabilities.
A few months ago, OpenAI introduced its own system of apps within ChatGPT, allowing external services to operate inside the AI. Users can now connect the free idealista app, enabling the AI to search across the platform’s full range of homes, rooms, garages, commercial spaces, or plots of land.
Users can communicate all their requirements to ChatGPT in natural everyday language. The conversational assistant will then present photos, prices, and descriptions of properties that match their criteria. Additionally, if preferred, users can view the properties on a map, all within a fast and intuitive interface.
The experience is designed to feel like a natural conversation with ChatGPT. For example, users might say, “I’m looking for a two-bedroom flat in the city centre and don’t want to spend more than €1,200,” or “find a garage for motorcycles in Ferrol,” or “tell me if there’s any room with a private bathroom and terrace in Córdoba.”
Within the AI interface itself, while browsing property listings, users can also ask ChatGPT to compare different results or to summarise the features and descriptions of each property.
For Francisco Iñareta, spokesperson for idealista: “This launch represents another step in idealista’s commitment to technological leadership in the real estate sector. Within the company, we develop and internally use various AI tools, including natural language processing models and predictive and generative models. Launching this app on ChatGPT, the most widely used conversational AI, is a natural progression in our mission to make it as easy as possible for the millions of users on idealista to find a home in a way that best suits their needs — a mission embedded in our DNA since 2000. It continues to drive us to innovate, improving and adding new features that enhance the user experience.”
