You may have come across the iconic white elliptical staircase of a well-known hotel in Madrid while scrolling through Instagram. That's Schrager's idea – he wants to attract local people by adapting the style to the location. The boutique hotel concept's creator has paid attention to every detail to transform the space into a place where people can stop to have a drink or play a game of pool. Even the pool table is lavish: a designer table created from a single block of marble, overlooked by an enormous 16th-century tapestry.

As for the common areas, the hotel has two Latin-American-inspired restaurants. The first, called Jerónimo, is accessed through the lobby on the ground floor. The pink-lit hallway that leads to the entrance has already become one of the most Instagrammed spots in Madrid, but once inside, diners can enjoy the creations of Mexican chef Enrique Olvera.
