Meliá Hotels International is continuing to strengthen its luxury portfolio, with a particular focus on Spanish destinations. The company has announced the signing of a new hotel located on the coast in the town of Estepona, Málaga, which will operate under The Meliá Collection brand. This marks the brand’s first venture on the Costa del Sol within its curated selection of distinctive, high-end properties.
With this latest addition, Meliá Hotels International now boasts 30 hotels either open or in development across Andalusia, including two other projects under The Meliá Collection banner in Cádiz and Ronda.
In the case of Málaga, where Meliá now has 16 properties, two developments stand out. The first is the anticipated year-end opening of ME Málaga, a flagship hotel located in the heart of the city centre. The second is the transformation of one of the group's existing properties in Marbella, which will soon be repositioned as ME Marbella, further enhancing the brand's presence on the Costa del Sol.
Set to open in mid-2026 following a full refurbishment, the Bahía Estepona hotel will join The Meliá Collection, adding to the group’s luxury offering along the Andalusian coastline. The hotel will feature 134 elegantly designed rooms and suites, crafted to provide guests with an exceptional seaside escape.
Overlooking El Padrón Beach, the property’s outdoor spaces will be a focal point of the guest experience, with landscaped gardens and a stylish swimming pool offering panoramic coastal views.
Guests will also be able to focus on health and wellness, thanks to the hotel’s state-of-the-art fitness centre and spa facilities. Culinary experiences will be another highlight, with three on-site restaurants, a poolside bar and a sophisticated lobby bar all contributing to a refined and relaxing stay.
A luxury hotel near Puerto Banús
Conveniently located just 20 minutes by car from Puerto Banús, 30 minutes from Marbella’s historic centre, and a little over a mile from picturesque towns such as Mijas and Málaga city, the hotel enjoys a prime position for exploring the best of the Costa del Sol.
