Torre Caleido, also known as "the 5th tower" is the newest addition to the skyline in Madrid. The impressive tower is due to be finished by the end of 2020 and details are being released of what the building will used for. One of the plans is for a luxury cinema: the Spanish operator Ocine will be in charge of installing luxury cinema screens in the project of the fifth tower which is managed by Inmobiliaria Espacio and the Philippine group Emperador. This will be the second opening in less than a year for this cinema operator in Madrid, after also opening its facilities in the innovative new shopping centre X-Madrid, located in the south-west of the the city. In this new project, Ocine will open six luxury cinema screens in Caleido with a capacity of up to 440 people, according to the Spanish newspaper, Expansión.

The concept that Ocine has chosen for the new building, which stands in the middle of Madrid's business district only metres from Plaza Castilla, is an "urban" model and each of the cinema's rooms are designed to make the viewer feel at home. Among its design, the use of armchairs stand out in order to bring this sensation of comfort to cinema-goers.

The new rooms will occupy nearly 1,300m2 of the new Torre Caleido, which will also have up to 80 commercial premises. In total, the new asset will devote two floors to restaurants and bars, as well as retail and shops dedicated to technology and cosmetics. This commercial offer surprisingly breaks with the office and business environment that surrounds the building. But that is precisely where Caleido's value lies: providing leisure and services to the thousands of workers who work in the four towers (las Cuatro Torres). The leading Spanish department store, El Corte Inglés has also been added to this project and will have a 750m2 supermarket. A gym and events room will complete the wide range of services.

Caleido has the challenge of meeting the needs of the almost 17,500 people who pass through the area every day. In addition to important financial and consulting firms, the four towers have a Eurostars hotel where many football teams stay when they travel to Madrid, among other important clients. In addition to this critical mass, the Instituto de Empresa (IE Business School) will also be located in Torre Caleido and plans to attract 6,000 students to its facilities.

In total, it is estimated that the new building will attract a total of 3 million visitors a year. The IE Business School campus and a Quirón health centre which will also be located in the tower are not expected to be finished until the end of 2020. They will occupy 35 floors of the vertical building and four floors of the horizontal section, respectively.
