Málaga in Spain's Costa del Sol is going to be home to be new, luxury hotel called "Torre del Puerto de Málaga". The project of the 5 star hotel is part of a special plan to transform the Port of Málaga and has been planned by the Qatar sovereign fund with the expert design of Estudio Seguí. Malaga's newest luxury 5 star hotel will be 116 metres in height, have 27 floors and 378 rooms, including 66 suites. The luxury project will also incorporate several terraces into its design and will offer an impressive viewpoint of the city on the highest floors.
The hotel aims to become an important reference point for the city, as well as for the coast of Málaga and the Costa del Sol. Its proximity to the historic centre of Málaga, with a road connection and pedestrian access through the Paseo del Parque, allows guests to get close to Málaga's most important monuments and shopping streets in just a few minutes.
In spite of its height, this new hotel will not break the city's visual image as it resembles the size of large cruise ships and the infrastructure of industrial silos and cranes that are found in the surrounding port.
The hotel will also include a shopping and leisure area. The Mirador restaurant on the top floor will be one of its main attractions, with 360º panoramic views of the coast and the city. The initial investment in the project amounts to 116 million euros, however the central government's approval is still being awaited as it is located in a port area.
