Guadalajara, Teruel and La Rioja are among the 10 places with the highest income, expenses and investments per inhabitant

Garai (Vizcaya) and Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid) are the Spanish towns with the highest average net income per person and per household, according to calculations published by the General Council of Economists (CGE).

Among villages with less than 1,000 inhabitants, Garai (Vizcaya) – with a population of 334 people – has the highest average net income per person and per household (€29,639 and €88,769, respectively).

Meanwhile, Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid), with a population of 88,504 inhabitants, is in second place, with €27,167 per person and €86,403 per household, according to 2021 data.

Economists' data also show that, among the 10 towns with the highest income, budget expenditure and investment per inhabitant, two belong to the province of Guadalajara (Zorita de los Canes and Angón), three to Teruel (Loscos, Monforte de Moyuela and Cañada Vellida) and two to La Rioja (Hornillos de Cameros and Brieva de Cameros).

The General Council of Economists of Spain (CGE) introduced the new features of the Socioeconomic Files 2023-2024, a web tool that allows you to compare the main economic and social data of all towns, provinces and autonomous communities in Spain.

The President of the General Council of Economists, Valentín Pich, stressed "the importance of having objective data both for decision-making and launching business projects. That is why the General Council of Economists' socio-economic files are a useful tool for many groups," he stressed.

Another conclusion from this tool is that four villages in Cáceres province are among the 10 villages with more than 1,000 inhabitants with the most bank branches per 1,000 inhabitants.

As for the villages with more than 1,000 inhabitants with the largest hotel offer, La Vall de Boí and Naut de Aran (both in Lleida) are in first and third place in Spain. Moreover, these two villages also lead in terms of the number of cafés, bars and restaurants per 1,000 inhabitants (Naut de Aran, in first position, and La Vall de Boí, in sixth).

Five of the 10 villages with the most foreigners are from Alicante

The tool also shows that of the 10 towns with more than 1,000 inhabitants with the highest residential cadastral value per inhabitant, nine are in the northern half of Spain and one is in Malaga. Among the villages in Spain with more than 1,000 inhabitants, there is a difference of €159,859.78 between the places with the highest and the lowest residential cadastral values per inhabitant: Noja (Cantabria),with €169,027.10 and Saucedilla (Cáceres), with €9,167.32.

Among other data, the tool also shows that, of the 10 towns with more than 1,000 inhabitants with the highest number of vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants, eight belong to the province of Madrid.

Finally, five of the ten towns in Spain with the highest percentage of foreign population belong to the province of Alicante (with an average of 65% foreigners).
