1. Santander International Festival

The Festival Internacional de Santander has a flagship programme that is committed to artistic quality. More than just a music festival, it is a meeting point for the top classical performers and artists in the world.

This festival is held throughout the month of August in Santander and its hallmark is the artistic diversity on show, with renowned pianists, dance performances, contemporary and early music, violin concerts, orchestras from Europe, Asia and America, and much more.  

2. Early Music Festival in Gijón, Asturias

The Festival de Música Antigua de Gijón is an original and different kind of cultural plan which is suitable for all types of audiences. It is held in early July in this picturesque town in Asturias in the north of Spain and lasts for just over a week. During these days, a fairly wide and varied programme is planned, covering the different stages of Early Music.

There are various different activities on offer that are usually pleasantly surprising, such as informative talks, programming adapted to children, interactive concerts for certain groups, and so on.

3. The Musical Fortnight in San Sebastián

Classical music finds its place in the Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, a stunning festival which has opened its doors every August since 1939. It is one of the oldest music festivals held in Spain and even in Europe.

During the festival, a multitude of shows and concerts are held on different stages in the Basque city of San Sebastián. The festival has a well-deserved reputation for the quality of its performers. In addition to these renowned figures, though, the festival also promotes young talent.

4. The Granada Festival of Music and Dance

The Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Granada has a long tradition and forms part of the city's heritage and European culture. Its origins date back to 1952 and every year there are great concerts with the participation of incredible symphony orchestras, ballets and dance shows.

This festival welcomes thousands of visitors and year on year, more and more people are signing up for the big event. The shows and performances take place in different public spaces around the city, either in the Palace of Charles V, in the Generalife Gardens or in the Alhambra's spectacular Court of the Myrtles. This year, there are events happening everyday from 21st June right up until 8th July.
