Starbucks’ flagship store at the Bernabéu stadium has been named "The Best Chain Coffee Shop" at The Best Coffee Shop Awards, held during Coffee Fest – Spain’s leading professional trade fair for the coffee industry.
The accolade, part of the "The Best Coffee Shops Spain" awards, recognises establishments that stand out for overall excellence. In the Branded Coffee Shop category, the jury evaluates a specific store’s ability to raise quality standards within a major brand – assessing coffee expertise, customer experience, design, innovation and operational consistency.
The award positions Starbucks Bernabéu as a national benchmark within the organised coffee shop segment – endorsing its distinctive proposition and commitment to excellence.
Located inside the newly refurbished Bernabéu, the store champions single-origin coffee – positioning itself as a global benchmark and a culinary laboratory for the brand. It offers exclusive products that set it apart from Starbucks’ core stores.
It also reinforces the role of the barista as an expert guide – delivering an experience designed to elevate the brand and convey what it stands for: a space where coffee, culture and great food come together to create memorable moments.
“Receiving the 'Best Chain Coffee Shop' award for our flagship store at Bernabéu is a source of pride that further proves our commitment to excellence and innovation,” said Fernando Albarrán, Marketing Director of Starbucks Spain. “This recognition highlights not only a unique space with unparalleled views, but also our baristas' passion and our commitment to offering high-quality, sustainably sourced coffee – from plantations in Costa Rica or Rwanda to the cup. Customers can also enjoy exclusive experiences and products they will not find in any other store.”
Starbucks Bernabéu – the brand’s largest store in Spain – opened on 22 August at Real Madrid’s stadium and has established itself in less than six months as a benchmark in the capital.
Overlooking the pitch, the flagship features a dedicated mixology area, its renowned Starbucks Reserve coffees and immersive experiences centred on different brewing methods – led by the brand’s coffee masters – professional baristas with specialist training who wear the signature black apron.
