Every year, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) publishes a list of the best tourist towns on the planet. Of the 44 towns chosen for 2022, there are two Spanish towns: the Navarrese town of Lekunberri, and Morella, in the Valencian Community. We present houses for sale on idealista in these areas, which have become references for tourism and take care of their heritage, their natural resources, and are both economically and socially sustainable.

The town of Lekunberri is known for forming part of Ernest Hemingway's route through Navarre. The American writer chose this village in 1931 to rest, escape from the hustle and bustle of Pamplona's San Fermin festival, and fill himself with peace. It has just over 1,500 inhabitants and houses like this one are for sale.

Meanwhile, the town of Morella is known for its historic centre, with a large medieval framework, with its town hall and Gothic basilica, which have been awarded the Europa Nostra prize, and the 2011 Heritage Prize awarded by the Spanish cities that are part of the World Heritage.

Morella includes spaces protected by the Natura 2000 Network within its area of almost 400 km2, located more than 1,000 metres above sea level. It has beautiful mansions, which are for sale on idealista for 895,000 euros.

Puentedey, the only village included in the Network of the Most Beautiful Villages of Spain.

This year, moreover, the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Spain has only named a single village to add to its list of more than 100 national municipalities. It is the town of Puentedey, a hamlet in the municipality of Merindad de Valdeporres, in Burgos. It has just 50 inhabitants and is characterised by its spectacular natural stone bridge.
