Malaga, Alicante and Valencia, the three best cities in the world for expats

Malaga has emerged as the world's top-rated city for expats, according to InterNations, an online community of international workers. Based on its survey of more than 12,000 expats in 49 cities Alicante and Valencia are in second and third place.

In the 2023 list, Malaga took the top spot, emerging this year as the best city to live in as an expat. The city is the best rated for local friendliness: 89% of those surveyed said Malagueños are particularly friendly to foreign residents. In addition, the land of Picasso also ranks second in the world in the quality of life index. The publication also highlights its climate, as well as its natural surroundings and leisure options.

Two other Spanish cities complete the top 3. They are Alicante and Valencia, in second and third place respectively. According to the publication, the former stands out for its affordable housing and the latter for healthcare. Madrid, another Spanish city, is in sixth place in the top ten.
