As the 2025–2026 school year approaches, some regions in Spain have already started confirming their term dates. School calendars can be a bit of a minefield here, especially with each autonomous community setting its own schedule on top of the national holidays that everyone enjoys.
While there are a handful of bank holidays shared across the country, the actual start and finish of the school year, along with various non-teaching days, can shift quite a lot depending on where you live.

These are the main public holidays that all schools across Spain observe, no matter the region:
- 12th October: Spain’s National Day (shifted to 13 October if it falls on a weekend)

Andalucía 2025–2026 school calendar
Andalucía’s school year has staggered starts for different stages, plus several unique local holidays like Día de Andalucía.

- End of school year: 22nd June (Infantil, Primary & Secondary); some sports courses run until 31st July
