The Noche Blanca del Flamenco

The White Night of Flamenco has been celebrated every June since 2008, when it became one of the most traditional Spanish festivals in Cordoba. This festivity has hosted such famous flamenco artists as Miguel Poveda, José Mercé, Manolo Sanlúcar, El Lebrijano, Enrique Morente and many more.

It is one of the few popular festivals in Spain which celebrate flamenco performances in different parts and on different stages in the city. Specifically, there are 12 places in the old town and other neighbourhoods of Cordoba where performances of this spell-binding Spanish artform is held on 16th June 2018.

Cordoba: where history and modernity meet

Cordoba is one of the most beautiful and historical cities in Andalusia. There are many things to visit in Cordoba, so it’s a good idea to plan out a route or have a guide so as not to miss the everything the city has to offer.

In Cordoba, a World Heritage Site, different cultures have lived together and all of them have left traces of their passage through it. Strolling through its historic centre takes you back in time, with the charming squares and narrow streets that surround the Mosque-Cathedral, a proud landmark in the city.

Its Andalusian legacy is reflected in the ruins of Medina Azahara city, a must-see for any tourist. There are also natural riches in Cordoba for nature lovers to enjoy, like the Sierra de Hornachuelos, Los Pedroches and Sierras Subbéticas.

Cordoba is a very hospitable city and has modern infrastructures and a wide range of hotels to welcome visitors. Throughout the year it organises all kinds of activities and events tailored to all audiences, from concerts to flamenco festivals and plays.

One night dedicated to flamenco

Cordoba is the city that welcomes the night of flamenco in an innovative and modern way. Hours and hours of pure debauchery with incredible voices, wonderful dances and graceful guitars. Where does all this happen? In the open air – in squares, streets, bars and every free nook and cranny of Cordoba.

This is Cordoba’s way of putting on a great show that pays tribute to the great figures of flamenco such as Rosario Flores, El Cigala, José El Francés, Fosforito, Chambao and Medina Azahara.

If you've never listened to flamenco music and seen the dances in their purest form, be sure to visit the city at this time of year and specifically on this very special day in June. This wild, passionate art, so stereotypically Spanish, hypnotises the watcher and transports you to a world of unleashed emotion. What better way to experience this than on the magical White Night in beautiful Cordoba?
