Angela Lansbury's former home of 40 years has a new owner. The Spanish-style property in Brentwood Hills (Los Angeles, California) sold for more than the asking price.
The actress bought the property in 1985 with her husband, Peter Shaw, and it was her main home until her death in October last year. Six months later, the family put the property up for sale for $4.495 million (about €4.1 million at the current exchange rate), in contrast to the $925,000 paid by the couple. However, the sale was finally made for $4.99 million (about €4.6 million), half a million above the starting price.
The property was built in 1962, has 344 m2, four bedrooms and four bathrooms, and is located in a quiet, tree-lined area. The property boasts more than 1,800 m2 of land and is surrounded by a wall guaranteeing privacy. The interior enjoys an abundance of natural light thanks to skylights and French doors, for example, in the spacious main bedroom and the living room.
The house has a lush garden, a swimming pool and an open kitchen with a fireplace, and is in a neighbourhood full of luxury properties, where other film stars, such as actor Jim Carrey, actress Alexandra Daddario and director Craig Gillespie also live.
