Student Experience has presented its new project in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid). It is a student residence located at Avenida de Rodajos nº 3 and will have a capacity for 600 people. The facilities will have common areas such as a restaurant, paddle tennis court, study area and a swimming pool located in the centre of the complex. Each of the rooms has its own balcony and bathroom, as well as a small area for storing and heating food. It is a new build structure, but has prefabricated parts, and is expected to be completed in January 2023.
The complex is located in a strategic area, close to several university faculties and well connected to the centre by public transport. The structure includes water recycling facilities, photovoltaic panels, electric vehicle charging points and other resources that reflect its commitment to sustainability.
The architectural firm AGAS has been commissioned to design the project, while the construction and property management of the project is in the hands of the Avintia Group.
Both Antonio Martínez (CEO of Avintia) and Javier Gracía Alba (president of AGAS) have emphasised the dedication and common vision of all the parties involved in a project that began to be planned 24 months ago, but whose construction, which is progressing at considerable speed, began in May of 2021.
Student Experience is a property manager and developer of high-end university residences developed in the Netherlands and the company behind its investment is Rinkleberg Capital. The Pozuelo project represents the beginning of its international expansion after more than 10 years of experience in the Dutch market.
According to Johan Verweij, founder and CEO of the company, the idea of expanding to other countries started four years ago. Although at first they could have aimed more towards Germany due to the proximity, the statistics of the number of students looking for accommodation in Spain, and especially in Madrid, showed this location as a favourable option. The real estate expert also points out that he has been able to verify the lack of quality housing and the questionable conditions and distribution of many of the student flats in Madrid. With this new residence, he explains that they want to preserve the privacy and comfort of each student by maintaining the individual rooms with their own bathroom and, nevertheless, enhance the social and community aspect with recreational areas such as the paddle tennis court and swimming pool.
As for Student Experience's plans for expansion in Spain, Verweij says that they already have five other complexes under development in other parts of the country, including cities such as Granada (in the Parque Tecnológico de La Salud) and Valladolid. A project that, once completed, could house around 5,000 places for students.
