The reopening date for Spain's first large luxury hotel has been set. Gustavo Escobar, General Manager of the Gran Hotel Taoro, announced in London at the 2024 World Travel Market that the hotel complex in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) will reopen its doors on 1 April next year.
During his speech, he also revealed that My Way Hotels & Resorts, the operator managing the property, has already begun accepting reservations for spring 2025, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the hotel’s closure.
The complex boasts a history of over 130 years, having been inaugurated in the 19th century, and holds significant cultural and historical importance for the people of Tenerife.
“The renovation of the Gran Hotel Taoro has preserved the original architecture of the hotel, which opened in 1890, maintaining its neoclassical style while blending it with an elegant colonial interior design,” Escobar said during his speech.
The hotel features exactly 199 rooms, including suites that offer panoramic views of Mount Teide, the Atlantic Ocean and the lush gardens surrounding the property.
The rooms strike a balance between history and comfort, blending their historic past with modern renovations to create a fusion of classic and contemporary style, always prioritising guest comfort.
Inside, there will be several dining options where guests can enjoy local cuisine made with the highest quality ingredients. The hotel will offer a diverse selection of dishes, ensuring a unique culinary experience.
Outside, a swimming pool and several terraces offer panoramic ocean views, allowing guests to enjoy the pleasant climate of the islands.
The complex offers a full range of amenities, including a massage area, heated pool, private gym, secure parking and spacious areas for hosting events.
