Where to find cheap Spanish properties
When moving to another country, it’s important to know where to find cheap properties so that you can get the best value for money and make a good investment according to where you want to buy. By moving 10 minutes outside a busy tourist centre, you could end up saving thousands of euros, for example. By consulting idealista/maps, you’ll be able to get up to date information and get to know the state of the real estate market in Spain before moving. Spain is divided into autonomous regions and provinces, and idealista/maps will provide you with information on average sales and rental prices in municipalities and neighbourhoods throughout Spain, meaning you can get to know any area without even leaving home. Let’s have a closer look.
Property prices in Spain
For a general idea of property prices across Spain, this map will show you the cheapest and most expensive places to buy property in Spain, with the lighter colours representing the areas with the lowest prices and the darker areas, the most expensive according to the price scale.
By looking at the map and the most popular areas for expat buyers in Spain, the Balearic Islands, inlcuding the popular destinations of Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca, prove to be one Spain's most expensive areas to buy property, followed by the Costa Brava and the Costa del Sol. The Costa Blanca, Canary Islands and parts of Andalusia offer more properties for a mid-price range, while the cheapest properties are found in Almeria, the Costa Calida and Murcia.
Let’s take the Costa del Sol as an example. By clicking or zooming into the Malaga region, you can see the specific areas where the prices are higher or lower.
If you want to focus on a particular province of Spain, by zooming further into the map you’ll be able to view more detailed price information, while hovering your mouse over each coloured area will give you the average price per metre squared. Further price information is available by selecting specific areas within each province.
By using the dropdown menu in the top right-hand corner, this same process can also be used for rental prices, by selecting “alquiler €/m2” instead of “venta €/m2”.
