We've reached the end of what will be one of the most talked about real estate operations of the year 2022 in Spain and abroad. The abandoned Spanish village of Salto de Castro in Zamora that went on sale for 260,000 euros, as reported by idealista/news, already has an owner. The buyer, as explained by Romuald Rodríguez from Royal Invest, the company representing the owners, is a businessman from the Spanish city of Toledo who has a rural tourism project in the pipeline. In the end, the sale has been closed at 300,000 euros, 15% above the asking price. These are all the details about the sale of Salto de Castro, close to the Portuguese border.

After appearing in news headlines across the globe, Salto de Castro has now been sold, with the owners emphasising how popular the offer has been with investors, thanks to a very attractive price. "We have received offers from Saudi Arabia, Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom... investors from more than twenty countries around the world have contacted us", explains Rodríguez. In addition, the consultant explains that they received offers of up to 600,000 euros, although they have tried to respect the initial price as much as possible. However, the operation is still pending some administrative details, so the sale and purchase will not be officially completed for approximately one month.

Oscar Torres is the businessman who has bought the village. Based in Toledo, Torres is CEO of Iniciativas Faos and has more than 20 years' experience in the construction sector. The businessman, who has the backing of a Chilean investment fund behind him, began his journey in 2015 creating Iniciativas Faos after acquiring extensive experience in the construction sector since 1994, forming part of a family that is a benchmark in construction and development in Toledo.

"Since 2015 our work has not stopped growing in the residential and office real estate sector as well as in the hotel and self-promotion sector. We hope to continue to do so in the same proportion, both in terms of work and in the trust placed in us by our clients", as explained on the website of Iniciativas Faos.

Therefore, this Spanish village complete with its Civil Guard barracks, swimming pool, bar, church, school and much more is now off the market and is ready for a new lease of life. Watch this space to see what the future holds for Salto de Castro, news which has been welcomed in the local area. The purchase of Salto de Castro and new tourism projects in the area will stimulate the economy of one of the areas most affected by depopulation in Spain.
