Aedas Homes closed the sale of almost 600 homes to foreign customers in 2022, representing approximately a third of its total sales last year, worth €265 million, i.e. at an average price per home of close to €500,000.
The Spanish developer claims to be "the great home 'exporting' company of Spain", a country that in 2022 saw a new record of exports of goods and services amounting to almost €400 billion.
"Spain is a country that has it all: good weather, beaches, islands, golf, a wide and diverse range of leisure activities, good food, excellent communications, security, and exceptional healthcare coverage. On top of all this, there is also an attractive range of new-build housing. In general, we are talking about a quality of life that is unrivalled in other parts of the world," said Aedas Homes' CEO, David Martínez.
"That's why our residential market is currently one of the most - if not the most - desired internationally. Spain is a lifetime destination, and we must respond to this solid foreign residential demand," added Martínez.
The developer sold homes to clients from more than 50 countries, with Dutch buyers standing out, followed by German, Polish, Belgian and British, ranging from €300,000 per home to more than €1 million for the most exclusive properties.
The properties are throughout Spain but are mainly on the Costa del Sol, Levante and the Balearic Islands. "Looking at this foreign demand of medium and high purchasing power, in May, we launched the Solum development in Tenerife; in just one month on the market, we have sold more than 20 homes for more than €25 million," the executive assured.

Martínez stressed that these foreign sales "create additional wealth" because they are goods that do not leave the country and continue to produce an economy, attracting new foreign capital, generating income for the administrations, and boosting the economy and wealth in the cities".
