Aedas Homes has commenced construction of Oase, the largest residential development in the Canary Islands and the first new-build project in Meloneras’ tourist area in over 20 years.

According to the developer, the scheme is already underway, which will comprise 96 semi-detached single-family homes in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria.

The listing describes Residencial Oase as “an oasis in the most privileged area of southern Gran Canaria, a paradise between dunes, sun, sea and palm trees.” The development offers several swimming pools, including a heated pool, and a wellness area featuring a fully equipped gym, sauna and coworking space. Additional amenities include a children’s play area, concierge service with 24-hour video surveillance, a communal garage and a private storage room for each home.

Juan Ambrosio Martínez, Aedas Homes’ manager in the Canary Islands, highlights strong interest from international buyers, but especially from domestic clients, primarily those based in Las Palmas. “These are Canarian buyers who have been searching for high-quality housing in the south of the island for years, whether as a second home or as an investment,” he explains.

He also underscores the appeal of the development’s prime location, noting that “Meloneras is one of the most exclusive areas in southern Gran Canaria, offering a full range of services, amenities and high-quality leisure options.”

According to the developer’s regional manager, “Oase is a residential concept built around four core principles: privacy, exclusivity, comfort and security.”

Seventh wood promotion and commitment to the Canary Islands

Aedas Homes states that Oase is one of the largest residential projects in Spain to use technological wood.

This marks the seventh development by the company to use wood in structural or façade elements – whether in single-family homes or multi-storey buildings across the country – but none match the scale of Oase, which will feature nearly 100 properties.

The first of these developments, Fioresta (51 homes) in San Juan de Alicante, has already been delivered and has received national and international recognition for construction innovation. Aedas Homes has also used wood in several other projects, including Eneida (16 homes) and Eneida Views (16) in Llucmajor (Mallorca), Avalon Delibes (73) in Madrid, Maremma (26) in Mallorca, and Ilex (69) in Godella (Valencia).

Oase also marks the company’s entry into southern Gran Canaria, further strengthening Aedas Homes’ position as a leading developer in the Canary Islands’ second-home market.

To date, Aedas has completed the Gazmira development (68 homes) and is currently building Singulare (32 homes), both located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. On the island of Tenerife, the company is advancing four developments – Serene in Adeje, Solum in Guía de Isora, and Carena and Carena Waves in El Médano – totalling over 350 homes. Altogether, Aedas Homes now has more than 500 properties under development across the Canary Islands.
