
The UK government has announced that travellers coming from the EU and the USA who have been fully vaccinated will no longer need to self-isolate upon arrival in the UK. For now, this measure, which comes into force on Monday 2nd August 2021, will apply to people arriving in England and Scotland from amber list countries and therefore applies to those travelling to the UK from Spain.
Travelling to the UK from Spain requirements
The current rules in the UK state that only those vaccinated in the UK can avoid quarantine upon returning from amber list countries (excluding France). However, with these rule changes, the British government has stated that families and friends will finally be able to be reunited with their loved ones abroad, without the need to quarantine.
Is a negative COVID test still needed to travel to the UK from Spain?
These new COVID travel rules between Spain and the UK, as well as the rest of the EU and the USA, apply to anyone who has been vaccinated with a jab approved by the EU or USA. Travellers will also still have to provide a pre-departure coronavirus test, as well as a PCR test on or before day 2 after arriving in the UK.
Can I travel to Spain from the UK?
The Spanish government states that all travellers arriving in Spain from the UK must present a pre-travel declaration form upon arrival and one of the following: either a negative COVID-19 test; or proof of full vaccination.
