In recent years, the communal areas of residential developments have evolved significantly, expanding beyond traditional amenities to include swimming pools, gyms, coworking spaces and social areas. Now, this evolution is taking another step forward by catering to a family member that has become increasingly important in many households: pets.

The company says the facility is designed to "make everyday life easier for owners while reinforcing the pet-friendly identity of the development, adapting to the needs of modern households."

Pets already play a central role in many Spanish homes. According to the AEDPAC 2025 Barometer, 52% of Spanish households live with pets, while 86% of pet owners consider them part of the family. This trend is particularly evident in Andalusia, which, with nearly 3.3 million registered animals, has the largest pet population of any autonomous community in Spain.

This new service highlights how today's residential developments are placing greater emphasis on the everyday experience of residents, their routines and the different ways people live together.

Having a dedicated pet-care area eliminates the need for separate trips and allows owners to groom their animals without taking up space at home. This can be particularly useful during the summer months, when beach visits, outdoor activities and longer walks become more frequent.

The market response has been positive from the outset. The project has already achieved 30% sales before being launched through international agency networks, demonstrating strong demand and buyer confidence in this part of Marbella. According to the development listing, prices start at €595,000.

The Grove features

The pet spa will form an integral part of the project, reflecting a concept that brings amenities more commonly associated with five-star hotels into a residential setting. The aim is to integrate wellness, sport, work, leisure and family life within a single environment.

The development will comprise 139 homes and include a wellness centre, gym, coworking area, Pilates and stretching studio, social spaces, a children's play area, four saltwater swimming pools and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views.

The location further enhances this outdoor-focused lifestyle. The development is just a ten-minute walk from San Pedro Alcántara beach and will include an exclusive seafront sunbathing area. It is also a five-minute drive from Puerto Banús and close to sports facilities, golf courses, international schools and the area's shopping and dining options.
