The Feria de Albacete 2019

The Feria de Albacete is one of the most authentic festivals in Spain considered to be of International Tourist Interest. It is celebrated every year in September, in honour of the patron saint of the city, the Virgen de los Llanos. The celebration is concentrated in different points of interest, mainly in the famous fairground and the bullring of Albacete. During these days, many activities are organised and the population multiplies considerably.

What to visit in Albacete

Albacete is located in Castilla-La Mancha and stands out for its natural wealth. A tour of the city brings visitors closer to the commercial history and customs of the La Mancha region, which includes one of the best folk festivals and the most famous bullfighting fairs in the region.

It is one of the largest cities in the region and one of the most modern, yet it still preserves the traditional art of La Mancha. There are certain points of interest based on religious architecture should not be missed in Albacete: the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, of various artistic styles (Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Neo-Gothic), as well as the ancient monastery of the Incarnation and the Church of the Purísima Concepción.

A tour of Albacete wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Posada del Rosario, where the Tourist Office is currently located, and is a group of buildings declared a National Historic-Artistic Monument of various styles (Gothic, Renaissance and Mudejar). Nor should we miss the typical houses of the place to get an idea of how its early inhabitants lived, such as the Casa de los Picos and the Casona Perona. Albacete's cuisine is another incentive, as well as its popular handicrafts.

The Albacete Fair has a long tradition: in 2010 it celebrated its 300th anniversary. Another curiosity is the exhibition posters that have appeared since 1901.
