Luxury property in Spain: the 10 most expensive streets in Spain 2020

Luxury property for sale in Spain

The most exclusive street in Spain for buying a home in 2020 is dedicated to a famous composer. Topping the table this year is Mozart Street, in Marbella, where the owners ask for an average of 8,416,461 euros to buy one of their luxury homes, according to a study by idealista, the main real estate marketplace in Spain.

The silver medal of this exclusive ranking covers an entire urbanisation located in the Malaga town of Benahavís: the Coto Zagaleta Urbanisation has dropped one place, after taking the top spot in 2019. This exclusive area of the Costa del Sol has an average price of 6,741,037 euros, a slightly higher price than the Paseo de la Marquesa Viuda de Aldama, in La Moraleja, Madrid, which is in third place at 6,303,281 euros.

Next is Calle 7, in Marbella, whose owners are asking an average of 5,967,000 euros for their exclusive homes. It is followed by two streets on the island of Mallorca: Calle Tàpies, in Andratx, with an average of 5,883,461 euros, and Calle Cosconar, in Palma, at 5,589,500 euros. The Paseo de los Lagos in the municipality of Pozuelo, in Madrid, is also over 5 million euros, with an average price of 5,370,967 euros

In the eighth position of this ranking is the street of Camino del Sur, once again in the exclusive urbanisation of La Moraleja where an average of 4,815,909 is asked for if you're interested in one of the luxury villas on offer. The penultimate address is Avenida Portals Vells, in the Mallorcan municipality of Calvià, with an average price of 4,803,846 euros. The classification closes with another street dedicated to a composer, in this case Rossini Street in Marbella, whose homes have an average price of 4,616,958 euros.

The most expensive area in each Spanish Autonomous Community (CCAA)

The study carried out by idealista is completed with the most exclusive streets of each of the 17 Spanish autonomous communities. In addition to the communities with streets in the top 10, 7 other autonomous communities have addresses in which the average is over a million euros: Catalonia (3,094,833 euros), Valencia (2,670,333 euros), the Canary Islands (2,200,000 euros), the Basque Country (1,886,538 euros), Castile-La Mancha (1,640,050 euros), Cantabria (1,612,894 euros) and Navarre (1,266,000 euros).

The cheapest region is Extremadura, where its most expensive street has an average price of 383,100 euros, followed by La Rioja (515,416 euros) and Castilla y León (571,750 euros).

Methodology

For the elaboration of this study, idealista has studied the average absolute price of all types of properties (flats, studios, penthouses, chalets...) listed in the same street. In order to avoid distortions in the data, only the streets with a minimum of 10 listings have been taken into account. Therefore, the study only shows average street prices, which doesn't mean that they are the most expensive homes for sale in each market.
