The most exclusive street in Spain for buying a home covers an entire urbanisation. Specifically, the Urbanización Coto Zagaleta, in the town of Benahavís, Malaga is the area with the most expensive homes for sale in Spain. The owners of this exclusive area of the Costa del Sol ask 6,758,961 euros on average to anyone who wants to get one of their luxury villas, according to a study by idealista, Spain's property marketplace.

The silver medal for this exclusive ranking goes to the Avenida del Tibidabo in Barcelona, with an average price of 5,858,750 euros per home. This price is slightly higher than the Paseo de la Marquesa Viuda de Aldama, in La Moraleja de Madrid, which ranks third with 5,700,000 euros.

There are two more streets in the exclusive urbanisation of La Moraleja above 5 million: Camino del Sur (5,485,192 euros) and Camino Ancho (5,146,875 euros). The next most expensive address is Avenida Pedralbes in Barcelona (4,884,286 euros).

Two streets in Marbella occupy the sixth and seventh positions in this ranking, both with names dedicated to famous composers. In Calle Mozart the average price of a house is 4,754,944 euros, while in Calle Rossini it is 4,715,026 euros. The list finalises with Avenida Rocaferrera in the Barcelona municipality of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres (4,700,000 euros) and Avenida Portals Vells de Calviá on the island of Mallorca (4,690,009 euros).

The most expensive in each Spanish Autonomous Community (CCAA)

The study carried out by idealista is full of the most exclusive streets in each of the 17 Spanish autonomous communities. In addition to the communities with streets in the top 10 positions, 4 more autonomies have addresses in which an average of more than one million euros is exceeded: the autonomous community of Valencia (2,377,667 euros), the Basque country (2,012,545 euros), the Canary Islands (1,208,545 euros) and Cantabria (1,119,127 euros).

The cheapest is Extremadura, where the most expensive street has an average price of 345,345 euros, followed by La Rioja (421,716 euros) and Castilla-La Mancha (428,067 euros).

Methodology

For the elaboration of this study, idealista has studied the total average price of all types of properties (flats, studios, penthouses, chalets...) listed in the same street. In order to avoid distortions in the data, only those streets with a minimum of 10 listings were taken into account. Therefore, the study only shows the average street prices, which doesn't mean that they are the most expensive homes for sale in each market.
