The British insurance company CIA Landlord has published a report where it analyses the best cities for teleworking for the British, and Spain's capital, Madrid, leads the ranking. This is due to cheap flights, the low cost of living and the high cultural activity of the Spanish capital, while these factors offset the relatively high rent for a home, according to the firm.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, millions of people around the world are considering the possibility of moving to live and work in another country. This recent study by CIA Landlord reveals the main cities in the world where the British can move to in order to work remotely and where they can save and receive their salary in pounds, and with this in mind, Spain is proving to be one of the world's best destinations for remote workers.

Madrid is ranked number one for British remote workers for having very cheap flights from the UK to the Spanish capital. It also has many tourist attractions, is a city with a lot of cultural activity, where food and drink is cheap compared to the standard of living in the UK. A negative point is the average rent which, according to the British insurance company, is 895 pounds per month (990 euros per month).

In second position is Istanbul, with a cheaper cost of living, but with worse flight connections and more expensive tickets. In third position is Budapest. However, for a Brit looking to save as much money as possible, Tirana in Albania comes out on top, where renting a house costs only 270 pounds, takeaway food costs 4 pounds and a public transport ticket as little as only 30 pence.

On the other hand, Monaco, Geneva and Vaduz are the worst cities for a British person to move to in order to telework. Despite the fact that there is only a one hour time difference and that the cost of public transport is cheap, Monaco has been voted the worst city for an UK citizen to move to in order to telework. Rent averages at 3,499 euros per month and food costs at an average of 25 pounds. Geneva and Vaduz are in the same situation and are more expensive for remote workers.
