Spain is among the countries with the highest life expectancy in the world. According to a chart by Visual Capitalist, based on data from the United Nations and the International Monetary Fund, it ranks second among the 30 largest economies, with an average of 84 years.

Only Japan, at 85 years, surpasses Spain in this ranking. Despite placing twelfth in terms of economic size, Spain matches other major economies such as France, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden and Singapore, all with an average life expectancy of 84 years.

By contrast, the United States, the world’s largest economy, records a life expectancy of 80 years, below several European countries.

At the lower end of the ranking is Indonesia, with 72 years, followed by India at 73 and Russia at 74 – highlighting significant regional differences even among the world’s largest economies.
